I’ll be leaving the fabulous folks at Chronicle Books for those at Inkling. A pretty wicked awesome ebook and software development start-up here in San Francisco. So while I sadly clean up my desk at Chronicle and get my feet at Inkling bear with me.
But there’s more news to come! I should be able to share it soon but ’til then I’ll show you where to find my favorite (simple) ramen recipe.
Japanese Miso Ramen Noodle Soup (that anyone can make)
First the ramen! Steamy Kitchen has an absolutely superb and simple Miso ramen recipe that I love to use when I don’t feel up to scouring San Francisco for the hearty noodle soup. For those of you who have never made ramen, fear not! She gives detailed instructions and to make it even easier, she took photos of any ingredients you may not recognize (you can find all of these ingredients in the Asian section of Whole Foods). To top it all off there is an adorably endearing story about Steamy Kitchen’s Ramen photo shoot (short people unite!- read it, you’ll understand). The whole recipe requires just over ten ingredients (which I will happily report you’ll use up or have spare to make delicious ramen again) and makes A LOT of ramen. Seriously though, there are only 4 steps.
And if you need a book with that ramen, I adore this illustrated A Year in Japan from Chronicle Books. It’s beautiful eye candy and keeps with dinner’s theme. Kate Williamson really is an amazing artist!
