Yesterday was my last day as a social media intern at America’s Test Kitchen and like most good things, it was sad to see it end. I’ve had an excellent time interning in the social media department. I mean who wouldn’t love hearing “magic chocolate flan tasting” over the intercom during the mid-morning slump?
So now I face the post awesome internship lull. I learned a lot at the Test Kitchen. The chefs are brilliant and made food that’s just to die for. It helps of course that they test each and every recipe for months. The first month of my internship I thought that the kitchen only made meatloaf. I’m serious, every time the intercom beeped it was someone saying “I’ve got meatloaf in the big kitchen.” Now I’ll admit this meatloaf was unlike any meatloaf I’ve ever had, but still, every day? It was a very confusing time for me… But then meatloaf turned into scones and cookies and pot roast and all kinds of amazing foods, it was like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, delicious bites always at your fingertips (fortunately though food does not rain from the ceiling).
