In a world full of foodies that are just bursting at the seams to talk about their delicious adventures it can be a little hard to figure out where to start. You may even have more options than you think. I’ve got a few tips for finding blogs you’ll enjoy reading and a few blogs that I just love.
Your favorite bakery or local brand may just have a blog of their own. Take for instance Wild Squirrel Nut Butter. This creative peanut butter company (I love their honey and pretzel peanut butter) has a blog called The Squirrel Nest where they talk about their food adventures and updates. So the next time you’re at your favorite food’s website take a look at their navigation bar. Is there a blog?
Use blogs you already love:
Most blogs (even mine) have a blog roll full of blogs that the author of the blog likes. Chances are that if you like one blog, you’ll enjoy some of the blogs they like too. For example the ever-popular Lick My Spoon has a great blog and a “links” tab chock full of fun reads and amazing recipes. So bloggers, work out a way to link with similar blogs or friends. The wider your network, the more people from diverse audiences that you’ll reach.
Use a Blog Collective:
The internet is now full of websites like Foodista and Foodbuzz that share their favorite blogger recipes with the world. If you’re too tired to sift through page after page of recipes this may be the perfect way to narrow down your search. Its also a great way to view a variety of blogs and find a few new ones you might enjoy reading on a regular basis.
On that note, food bloggers should strongly consider submitting their postings to these websites as it is an excellent way to reach out to new people.
That ends today’s little tangent into the blogosphere. If anyone has any questions or other ideas post them in the comments! I’d love to hear about the creative ways you’ve all found blogs you like.
